Here to Help – Dushka Warren

Dushka initially joined Mercer on a six-month contract in November 2016 straight out of University. After a few years of exploring Europe and Canada on her OE Dushka decided to come back home and re-joined Mercer’s Wellington office in November 2020 and has been with us ever since.
Currently Dushka leads the KiwiSaver Administration Team. A typical day as a people leader varies according to Dushka. “I don’t think there is such a thing as a ‘typical’ workday. Every day is different and it brings new challenges and with that opportunities. I enjoy being able to guide my team through their daily tasks and interactions with our customers as it gives me an opportunity to see first-hand the type of customer experience we provide. I also spend a lot of time interacting (virtually) with our internal teams such as the Helpline team and offshore processing teams based in Melbourne and India to make sure all things KiwiSaver run smoothly.”
The most frequently asked question asked by our KiwiSaver members is “What is my KiwiSaver balance?”
“We get asked that a lot!” Dushka says. “Members can log in to view their latest estimated balance any time via the Mercer KiwiSaver App which, you can download from the App Store or Google Play Store by simply searching “Mercer NZ”. Alternatively members can login directly from the Mercer website via the “Login” button on the top right hand corner. Here, you can also make updates to your contact details, investment options among other things in relation to your KiwiSaver account. If you have trouble logging in, you can click the “Need help” link or call our friendly Helpline team on 0508 MERCER (0508 637 237) who will be able to talk you through the process. You can also get your balance over the phone throughout automated system, without waiting to talk to a human.
With the current market volatility, we asked Dushka how important KiwiSaver balance is to her:
“I’m lucky that I have time on my side and it is a long way off before I will be withdrawing my KiwiSaver money. So, the recent volatility hasn’t worried me too much in terms of my personal KiwiSaver funds. It’s nice knowing experts are looking after my money and there is plenty of time for my savings to recover.”
Outside of work Dushka is an avid netballer, playing both competitively and socially. In her spare time, Dushka loves socialising and getting away to see her family as much as possible. Her down time includes cuddling and playing with her seven month old puppy Checo and planning her upcoming wedding.
